The foreign ministers of Egypt, Qatar, Jordan, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Turkey and Indonesia condemned the continuation of humanitarian suffering in the Gaza Strip and illegal Israeli measures aimed at entrenching control and annexation in the West Bank, including the acceleration of settlement expansion, calling for the implementation of commitments related to ending the war and ensuring the unity of Palestinian territory.
In a joint statement, the ministers expressed deep concern over the continued humanitarian suffering in Gaza, demanding that the Israeli occupation immediately fulfil its obligations under the first phase of the comprehensive plan.
They also called for the implementation of the second phase of the Gaza agreement, including the restriction of weapons alongside a complete Israeli withdrawal from the Strip, stressing the necessity that the Gaza Strip remain an integral part of Palestinian land and that the implementation of the comprehensive plan contribute to the reunification of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
Regarding the West Bank and Jerusalem, the ministers condemned illegal Israeli measures aimed at entrenching control and annexation, including the acceleration of settlement expansion, and expressed deep concern over measures that undermine the historical and legal status quo of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
The statement rejected any measures aimed at expelling or forcibly displacing the Palestinian people from their homeland, stressing the need to respect the rights of the Palestinian people and the unity of their territory.
The ministers called for sustained and effective American engagement to ensure that all parties, including Israel, fulfil their commitments and obligations towards implementing the roadmap.
