Israeli occupation authorities issued a military order, numbered 98/26, targeting 56.026 dunams of land in the village of Kafr Malik, northeast of Ramallah, ordering the removal of wild plants and the uprooting of olive trees from the area under the pretext of taking "security measures."
The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission explained that the targeted lands are located alongside Road 449, south of the village, and that the order obliges their owners to carry out the removal work within seven days of a tour organized with them, allows the occupation authorities to implement it if they fail to comply, and grants them the right to file an objection within seven days of the tour.
The commission said the uprooting of olive trees at the site targets an agricultural resource for the landowners and imposes new restrictions on its use under the pretext of road security.
In a related development, settlers this morning stormed agricultural lands in Kafr Malik and released their livestock among the olive trees, causing damage to a number of them.
Agricultural lands belonging to residents in the area have been subjected to repeated attacks by the occupation and its settlers, including the destruction of crops, fruit-bearing and perennial trees, the release of livestock, and tampering with agricultural property.
With the addition of the Kafr Malik order, the total number of military orders issued by the occupation authorities since the beginning of 2026 to remove trees and vegetation has risen to 55 orders, targeting a total area of 2,372.606 dunams, compared to 47 orders targeting 1,613 dunams during the whole of 2025.
