The World Health Organization has warned of a sharp deterioration in the health system in the Gaza Strip, confirming that Israeli authorities are preventing medical equipment and vital radiology devices from entering the territory without providing any official justification.
The organization explained that the list of banned equipment includes diagnostic radiology devices, sterilization equipment, and advanced medical monitoring devices, along with essential spare parts needed to operate existing equipment in hospitals.
A representative of the organization said: "We face systematic obstacles preventing the arrival of life-saving medical equipment, without any official medical or security justification provided to the relevant authorities. This deprivation exacerbates the crisis in the health sector, which already suffers from extensive damage to infrastructure."
In a related context, the World Health Organization stressed that the volume of medical and humanitarian aid currently entering the Gaza Strip is in no way sufficient to meet the growing needs of Palestinian families, especially amid rising injuries, chronic diseases, and emergency cases.
