A settler was killed and others were injured on Sunday morning in a shooting near the "Hallamish" settlement built on Palestinian land west of Ramallah, amid a wide mobilization of occupation forces in the area.
Hebrew sources said the shooter managed to withdraw from the vicinity of the settlement. Occupation forces deployed large reinforcements to the area, accompanied by helicopters, and launched extensive search and sweep operations for him, while closing several roads and imposing a security cordon around the area.
The sources pointed to fears among occupation agencies of another attack, given that the shooter managed to leave the site while still carrying his weapon.
Occupation forces tightened their measures in the Ramallah and al-Bireh governorate and closed a number of entrances and exits, alongside an intensive military deployment in areas west of Ramallah in search of the attacker.
