Occupation Incursions Disrupt Education in Nablus, Classes Move Online

UNRWA suspends classes in Balata, Askar al-Qadim and Askar al-Jadid schools, while Hisham Hijjawi College switches to online learning as occupation forces storm eastern Nablus.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) announced the suspension of classes today at its schools in Balata, Askar al-Qadim and Askar al-Jadid, citing concern for student safety, with the day to be made up during the coming week.

The agency called for teachers and parents' councils to be informed and for maximum caution to be exercised.

In the same context, Hisham Hijjawi College of Technology in Nablus announced that classes would be moved to online learning today, Thursday, 1/10/2026, due to the incursion of occupation forces into the eastern area of Nablus city, and out of concern for the safety of students and staff.

This comes in parallel with the suspension of classes at schools and kindergartens in Nablus city and the eastern area, due to the continued incursion of occupation forces into the area.
