Several residents suffered suffocation and three were detained on Wednesday during an attack by settlers and occupation forces on the village of Marda, north of Salfit.
Local sources said settlers, under the protection of occupation forces, stormed the village and fired gas and sound bombs toward olive pickers, causing several residents to suffocate after inhaling the gas. Occupation forces prevented an ambulance from reaching the injured.
The sources added that occupation forces detained three residents — Dirgham Wasam, Wasef Hijir and Murad Kanaan — held a number of other residents, closed all entrances to the village and prevented residents from picking olives.
They noted that settlers smashed the contents of several residents' homes during the storming of the village and the assault on the residents.
