The Palestinian national team, "Al-Fida'i," climbed three places to 92nd in the world and 13th in Asia in the new rankings released Wednesday by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), continuing its rise in the global and continental standings.
The media department of the Palestinian Football Association said Al-Fida'i advanced on the back of its recent positive results, which included a 4-2 win over Tajikistan, a 2-2 draw with New Zealand, and a heavy 5-0 victory over the hosts to close out its participation in a friendly tournament in China.
The department said these results reflect Al-Fida'i's rising level, as it continued to collect points and strengthen its presence among Asian teams despite the difficult conditions facing Palestinian football.
Al-Fida'i is preparing to take part in the 2027 Asian Cup finals in Saudi Arabia next January.
