Israel Installs Three New Iron Gates Southwest of Jenin

Occupation forces installed three iron gates at the entrances to the town of Ya'bad and the roads leading to Kufeirit and Kafr Qud, southwest of Jenin, tightening military restrictions on the governorate.

Israeli occupation forces on Sunday installed three iron gates at the entrances to the town of Ya'bad and the roads leading to the villages of Kufeirit and Kafr Qud, southwest of Jenin, in the occupied West Bank.

Local sources said the occupation forces erected the gates at the entrances to the town and neighbouring villages from the southern side.

The sources said these measures obstruct residents' movement to and from the town, delay their access to workplaces, schools and health facilities, and restrict the movement of ambulances and emergency cases, aggravating the daily suffering of residents.

The measures come amid a tightening of Israeli military restrictions on the Jenin governorate, through the installation of iron gates and the closure of entrances to villages and towns and the roads connecting them.

Occupying forces had previously installed more than 10 iron gates at the entrances to villages and towns east of Jenin, along the bypass road.

According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, the number of barriers, closure points and obstacles monitored in the West Bank has reached 942, restricting the movement of Palestinians between cities, towns and villages.
