Settlers Attack Olive Pickers East of Ramallah

Settlers assaulted olive pickers in the Al-Hadab area of Burqa village and detained one of them after attacking him, amid 219 recorded violations in 12 days.

Settlers attacked Palestinian citizens on Thursday in the village of Burqa, east of Ramallah, in the occupied West Bank.

Local sources said settlers attacked olive pickers in the Al-Hadab area of Burqa village, assaulted them, and detained one of them after beating him.

The attacks come amid an escalation in settler assaults during the olive season, which include attacking farmers, preventing them from reaching their lands, stealing crops, and damaging and burning trees, with the aim of depriving them of access to their lands and agricultural season.

According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, 219 violations carried out by settlers and occupation forces were recorded between 1 and 12 October, including 136 incidents linked to the olive harvest season.
