Netanyahu Calls for Toppling Iran Regime, Directs Army

Netanyahu escalates rhetoric against Iran, claiming it seeks to develop "death bombs" and saying the only way to remove the threat is to topple the regime in Tehran.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu escalated his rhetoric toward Iran, declaring that Tehran is again attempting, in his words, to develop military nuclear capabilities, and accusing the current Iranian leadership of following the same approach it pursued in previous years.

Netanyahu said "the Iranian regime has not learned its lesson yet," claiming that Mojtaba Khamenei decided to continue the policies pursued by his father, and adding that Iran has returned to seeking to develop what he described as "death bombs," a reference to nuclear weapons.

The Israeli prime minister asserted that the Iranian threat is not limited to "Israel" but extends to regional and international security and stability, stressing that his country will continue working to prevent Tehran from acquiring a nuclear weapon.

In an unprecedented escalation, Netanyahu considered that "the only way to remove this threat permanently is to topple the regime in Iran," noting that he issued directives to the Israeli army and the intelligence and security services to act according to this approach and confront what he described as the Iranian danger.

The remarks come amid continued tension between "Israel" and Iran and an exchange of accusations regarding nuclear activities and indirect military operations in the region, amid international fears over the repercussions of any new escalation on Middle East security and stability.
