Israel Begins Building New Settlement West of Hebron

Occupation forces launched bulldozing and construction work to establish the new "Maged" settlement and pave a settlement road exceeding three kilometers in the lands of Al-Majd village, west of Dura, southwest of Hebron.

Israeli occupation forces on Thursday began bulldozing and construction work to establish a new settlement and pave a settlement road in the lands of Al-Majd village, west of the town of Dura, southwest of Hebron, in the occupied West Bank.

Press sources reported that the occupation forces, accompanied by groups of settlers, started bulldozing and construction in the lands east of the village to establish a new settlement called "Maged," alongside paving a settlement road linking it to the "Negohot" settlement and the road leading to the lands of 1948, with a length exceeding three kilometers.

The head of the Al-Majd village council, Yasser Al-Masharqa, said the occupation forces had begun since 7 October 2023 to gradually seize citizens' lands east of the village and prevent their owners from reaching them.

He added that the area of seized land exceeds two thousand dunums of agricultural land and pastures, which constitute a primary source of income for a large number of the village's residents, warning that establishing the settlement and cutting the settlement road threaten to deprive residents of thousands of agricultural dunums surrounding the road and extending along its sides.
