Hebron Offensive Enters Tenth Day as Israel Threatens Expansion

Occupation forces continue their military operation in Hebron for a tenth consecutive day, raiding homes, detaining residents and displacing more families, with daily economic losses exceeding 12 million shekels.

Israeli occupation forces continued their military offensive on the city of Hebron in the southern West Bank on Sunday for the tenth consecutive day, reinforcing their military deployment, carrying out home raids, restricting residents' movement and forcing new families to displace.

Local sources said occupation forces are continuing their military operation in the al-Jalda and Deir Baha areas, and are detaining a number of residents and their vehicles in the Wadi al-Sheikh area of the town of Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, amid a continuing siege and closures imposed on the city and its surroundings.

In a related development, occupation forces on Sunday arrested the wife of the martyr Hamouda al-Jaaba and her father Jamil Shuwaiki during their raid on the area. They also forced new families to leave their homes near Al-Quds Open University and imposed restrictions on residents' movement in areas close to al-Jalda and Deir Baha.

According to the Hebron municipality, the ongoing offensive has caused more than 3,300 citizens to be affected or displaced, the demolition of 15 homes and facilities, the closure of 327 commercial shops, and direct daily economic losses exceeding 12 million shekels, in addition to widespread damage to infrastructure and the health and environment sectors.

Some 80,000 students have also been deprived of attending their schools as a result of the ongoing military operation and the closures imposed on the city for the tenth consecutive day.
