Israeli Forces Expel Yassuf Farmers as Settlers Assault Others

Israeli forces forced Palestinian farmers to leave their lands while picking olives east of Salfit, and settlers attacked farmers between Deir Istiya and Qarawat Bani Hassan, seizing equipment and beating them.

Israeli occupation forces on Sunday forced a number of Palestinian farmers to leave their lands while they were picking olives in the village of Yassuf, east of Salfit, in the occupied West Bank.

Local sources said the occupation forces forced the farmers to leave their lands in the "Bab Israb" area of Yassuf village and prevented them from continuing to pick olives.

In a related incident, settlers attacked a number of farmers while they were on their agricultural lands in the western area between the towns of Deir Istiya and Qarawat Bani Hassan, seized their agricultural equipment and beat them, causing them bruises.

The occupation forces also closed the entrance to the town of Deir Istiya and the eastern gate of the village of Marda, hindering the movement of residents.
