Israel Demolishes 4 Homes in Bedou, Displacing 20 Residents

Israeli occupation forces on Thursday demolished 4 homes in the town of Bedou, northwest of occupied Jerusalem, after forcing their owners to empty the contents, displacing 20 residents.

Israeli occupation forces on Thursday demolished 4 homes in the town of Bedou, northwest of occupied Jerusalem.

The Jerusalem Governorate said occupation machinery stormed the town and demolished 4 homes after forcing their owners to empty their contents.

The governorate reported that the occupation displaced 20 residents from the demolished homes, while it continues to empty other homes.

The occupation municipality in Jerusalem refrains from granting Palestinians building permits, and demolishes their homes or forces them to demolish them itself, a practice that contravenes international law and humanitarian charters that guarantee the right to housing, as part of systematic occupation practices aimed at forcibly displacing Palestinians from the city of Jerusalem, in exchange for expanding settlements in the city and its surroundings.
