Warning Against Harming Prisoners and Call for Their Support

A Palestinian entity affirmed its rejection of the occupation’s targeting of prisoners, warning that any assault would provoke a response. It urged international and regional parties to pressure the occupation government. The statement also emphasized the importance of continued community, factional, and union activities in support of the prisoners, describing their cause as one that concerns every home, village, and city.

We will not allow the occupation to act unilaterally regarding the prisoners, and it should be clear to all that any violation of their lives or dignity will be met with a response. This is a call to all international and regional actors to pressure the occupation government specifically on this issue. The prisoners are the leaders of our people, symbols of our struggle, and a source of pride, and we will not permit any party to assault them. On our path to their freedom, we remain committed to supporting, defending, and protecting them. When we say Al-Aqsa is a red line and the prisoners are a red line, we are linking the sanctity of the land with that of the struggling human being who gave up freedom for the homeland and the people. We are fully aware of our words.

We also call on all factional, community, and syndicate activities to continue supporting the prisoners because this is everyone’s cause. Every home, village, and city has a prisoner, and this is the least we can do.
